About M G Richardson Bed & Breakfast

This house was built in the early 1880's after the first house burned and was home to MG "Papa Gib" and his wife "Mama Georgia." It is thought that Papa Gib was born on this property, perhaps in a preceding house which burned.  Mazirah Gib "Papa Gib" Richardson began the local general mercantile store in 1889.  His children were born and raised in this house.  Papa Gib and Mama Georgia lived here until their deaths.  At that time, the house became home to their eldest son Ernest, who moved home to help run the general mercantile store and their farm and continued to raise his 5 children in the same house.  The last M G Richardson and was born and raised in this house and the Bed & Breakfast is named in honor of him.

After years outside of the family I was blessed to be able to acquire and restore the home.  Opening a Bed & Breakfast was the best way I could think of to share the love our family has shared for the home which raised three generations and which now has 2 more generations to get to know the house.

Come and relax in the charm of this 150 year old house.  Enjoy the wrap-around porch, large yard, and large, comfortable interior rooms.  Feast on the full service breakfast served in the formal dining room each morning.

Thank you for your interest in sharing in a stay in my family home and wishing you many fun discoveries and safe travels.
